Hi, I’m Xianmin, your Remote IT Concierge, and this is my startup weekly journal.

Week 5 Startup Actions

For those who have been following my previous weekly journals, you might notice that I’ve changed the title.

Yes, the short-term self-rescue action can now be concluded.
I have the ability to work independently, can bring value to clients, and have received positive feedback.
Therefore, I think I can temporarily put aside the idea of job hunting and start building my own business.

From an entrepreneurial perspective, the previous content themes had these issues:

  1. Words like “unemployment,” “rural,” and “self-rescue” might attract attention but reduced my professional credibility.
  2. From a recommendation algorithm perspective, it might attract unemployed peers and fellow programmers who aren’t my potential clients. I need to change this strategy.
  3. It was somewhat self-centered rather than client value-oriented.

Currently, my main direction hasn’t changed - I still hope to create a useful and profitable product. This week, I’ve restarted my personal development plan.

For survival, freelancing remains the primary focus, with current weekly earnings stable at around 1500, allowing for selective project acceptance.
I try to limit freelancing work to 5 hours daily, using the remaining time for personal projects.

These are some recent reflections.

This Week’s Achievements

  1. Created a browser extension for a teacher - not technically challenging but solved a practical problem and contributed to education work, which was fulfilling;
  2. Helped a programmer resolve iOS input issues in a mini program;
  3. Solved a Puppeteer file download issue requiring login. This was interesting - AI got stuck in a bug-fixing loop, but when I suggested “a certain method,” it had an aha moment. Of course, I don’t like such hack techniques, but human intervention is necessary when AI stubbornly pursues the wrong direction.
  4. Helped a university student with assignments.

Closing Words

Since starting these weekly journals, I’ve received private messages from several strangers, sharing freelancing opportunities and potential income sources;
Some shared job opportunities, telling me about companies that accept remote work that might suit me.
There was also lots of encouragement.

I sincerely thank you all.
